Scottie Scheffler heavily backed favorite to begin U.S. Open week

U.S. Open Betting Snapshot – Pinehurst No. 2, June 16 2025

Scottie Scheffler enters as the overwhelming favorite, listed at +275 at DraftKings where he commands 31 % of bets and 33 % of money on the field to claim his first U.S. Open title. Defending champion Bryson DeChambeau trails at +900, drawing 14 % of bets and 22 % of dollars.

Despite second-shortest odds at +850, world No. 2 Rory McIlroy has attracted just 3 % of the action at DraftKings—mirroring his mixed form since April, which included missing the cut at the RBC Canadian Open.

At BetMGM, Scheffler likewise leads the liabilities (31.3 % of money) as his odds have tightened from +500 to +275, while DeChambeau’s have shortened from +1400 to +750 on 16.7 % of the handle. McIlroy is the third-biggest liability there, backed by 8.4 % of money at +1200 (opened +900).

Longshots on the move

  • Xander Schauffele: Opened at +1100, now +2200 at BetMGM after inconsistent results.
  • Brooks Koepka: From +1800 to +6600 at BetMGM amid missed cuts and winless LIV Golf start.
  • Ludvig Aberg: Young Swede hasn’t yet won a major but finished T2 at the Masters and T12 at last year’s U.S. Open; trading at +3500 (DraftKings, 4 % of bets) and +2500 (BetMGM, 5.6 % of bets / 3.9 % of money), after opening at +1600.
